My Summer Glow Essentials

Aloha from the rainbow state! I’ve been posted up on the beautiful island of Maui and have been working on a natural deep glow under the hot Hawaiian sun. Despite the fact I’m here now, not everyone is as lucky, so its important for me to share my tips to achieve the summer glow without the sun, or enhance the colour you already have. There are a few products that I use to gleam and glow and ill break it down right here for you, it’s super simple.

  1. Under everything, absolutely everything, put a light coat of Charlotte Tilbury’s Magic Cream all over your face, and trust me, it lives up to its name. It lifts and transforms the skin creating a glow, which doubles as a hydrating base to anything.

As for the glow..

2. My favourite bronzer to use is Bobbi Brown’s Bronzing Powder in the shade Golden Light 1, as well as Benefit’s Hoola Matte Bronzer. To each her own, but these two are by far my favourite. When applying to the face, I go from just above the arch of my eyebrow, to  my cheek, as if its a half moon, then along the jawline and at the top of the forehead (a few sweeps is all you need).

And of course we cannot forget the highlighter..

3. I recently purchased the Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Kit in That Glow. It has successfully lived up to the projected hype, as I was quite curious, and have been using the shades ‘Sunburst’ and ‘Bubbly’ like crazy. All it takes is a fan brush, and a few sweeps at the top of the cheekbone, at the cupids bow, the arches of the brow, and a few stokes across the hairline. My absolute favourite that is perfect for summer is the Charlotte Tilbury Bar of Gold . It light reflects like crazy and makes you feel like your holding a glowing candle up to your face, and with this product less is more. The third, when looking for a more pinky glow, is in fact a limited edition from 2012 by Bobbi Brown and something I hold near and dear to my heart as it is no longer available. It is (drumroll) from the summer collection and in the shade ‘Miami’. If anyone ever comes across it I would be forever grateful. As for placement for the last two, same as what I recommended above.

And too finish..

4. Spritz on some of our favourite Tom Ford Soleil Blanc Shimmering Body Oil. YES it is impossible to track down but when you do, you will not be sorry (and get the scented one). Spray across the collar bone, and even if you can’t see it, trust me others can so don’t go crazy… or do!!!

If anyone has any other questions about products or how to apply simply send me a message and I would be happy to help. Happy glowing!

The 69th annual film festival kicked off about a week ago, and leave it to those along the French Riviera to deliver some of the most jaw dropping looks of the year. There was absolutely no shortage in the glamour department, and Instagram has been filled with celebrities of all corners of the world dropping everything to attend the exclusive festival. MET Gala 2016: Best Dressed PLUS Major Trends

NOTE: Before we get into the who wore what and what the MAJOR trend was this year, for those of you who are unsure, here is a MET Gala definition. Dating back to 1946, the MET Gala has been an annual event held in New York City, and is a fundraising event to benefit the local Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute. It marks the grand opening of the Costume Institute’s annual fashion exhibit. Each year there is a set theme to mirror what is being focused on in the exhibit, this year the theme was Manus x Machina: Fashion In An Age Of Technology.

Okay now that we are all caught up to speed, this years red carpet was flooded with celebrities and designers from across the globe. The futuristic theme came in all different kinds of forms from what looked like head to toe mirror shards, to body armour, and a Tomagachi here and there. The thing we saw MOST of was in fact chrome, because of course everyone was trying to prove they were the best dressed robot in New York City last night.

The Beauty Vitamin Guide

I am frequently asked what goes into maintaining my morning vitamin routine, and the answer is simple: the beauty benefits. Sure, there are laughs when you pull out a handful of vitamins that nobody will believe you can actually get down, but practice makes perfect. Navigating down the supplement isle can be intimidating to anyone, but it really dosent have to be. To break it down, here is a cheat sheet of the best supplements for your hair, skin, and nails.

Vitamin B Calm aka The Stress Reliever

Stress, poor digestion, working out, and alcohol are a few of the main things that can benefit from the use of taking a calming  supplement. It normalizes the central nervous system, as well as supporting the liver, and relieving mental fatigue as we all know no day is as easy as a walk in the park.

Vitamin C aka The Brightener

Vitamin C is a tropical antioxidant that is highly effective at inhibiting free radicals that cause wrinkles, sagging and general aging. It aids in the bodies iron absorption, a vital contribution to overall beauty and well being, as well, it is one of the most effective nutrients to help grow and strengthen hair.Your body does not store or produce it, so it is important to get it into your system.

Vitamin D aka The Sun

The main source of Vitamin D can be reflected down on us from the sun way up in the sky, however it is not always sunny so taking a vitamin would be your next best option. It plays a large role in healing and preventing acne, along with calming any inflammation promoting that covet “glow”.

Omega 3 aka The Secret to Shiny Hair

Omega 3’s are the essential fatty acid and secret to having commercial worthy locks. The fatty acid nourishes hair follicles promoting stronger stands with an overall shinier appearance.

Magnesium aka Dr. Sleep

Theres a reason the saying “beauty rest” is a thing, and its becuase it is a direct connection to your appearance the next day.  They say sleep is the fountain of youth and some quality shut eye can make all the difference. Magnesium is an important factor in muscle relaxation and heart health. It regulates our bodies calcium for healthy bones, but most importantly can act as that extra shove we need into a good nights slumber. (Note: I take two about 10-15 minutes before I plan on falling asleep).

Zinc  aka The Miracle Mineral

Zinc works for oil control on the skin and reducing the hormones that produce acne. It also  binds the skin cells responsible to repair the skin and helps to circulate through the life cycle of collagen in the skin. Zinc promotes white blood cell formation in the skin, which is the base to our immune system and healthy people have glowing skin.

Digestive Enzymes  aka Bloat No More

I have an extremely sensitive stomach to any and all foods and couldn’t help but feel gross and bloated every time I ate. When I started taking digestive enzymes it was literally life changing. 1-2 before each meal depending on the size helps to break the food down into nutrients so our bodies can absorb them, eliminating feeling bloated and full after just a few bites.

The Best of Coachella Weekend One

Weekend one of the most covet American music festival hosted in the Palm Springs desert came to an electric close on Sunday night by none other than Taylor Swift’s beau, Calvin Harris, who surprised the crowd with a little bit of some @badgalriri. The known-to-be star studded weekend is one of the easiest venues to catch a glimpse of your favourite celebrities and artists all in one place. The performers who graced the stage were headlined by names such as LCD Soundsystem, Ellie Goulding, A$AP Rocky, Ice Cube, Halsey, Sia, and last but not least, Guns and Roses, just to name a few. Not to mention some of their killer special/surprise guests like Kanye West, Sam Smith, G-Eazy, NWA, Tiesto, Snoop Dogg, Skrillex and Lorde, and of course, many more. However, the music is great and everything, and it IS a festival for music, but it also is a place to be seen, therefor Coachella attire has successfully created a category of its own. Think western flower child crossed with Slash and Pocahontas, you see what I’m saying? Half the excitement of the whole ordeal is actually going onto Instagram (if you’re not there) and seeing what the celebrities are going to show up in, and how many outfit changes they are willing to endure to keep the vibe’s flowing. This year we saw a lot less flower crowns and fringe, and a lot more chokers, lace, and bandana’s around the necks of both the guys and gals trying to channel Alec Monopoly (see Bella Hadid and The Weekend). Incase you missed it, here are the best looks and Instagram’s from the first three days of Coachella.

The second hottest ticket in town for the weekend was to Revolve Clothing’s Desert House, and those on the guest list included Alessandra Ambrosio, Jamie Chung, Shanina Shaik, Chanel Iman, Shay Mitchell, Chiara Ferragani, and the entire Victoria’s Secret angel roster. The private estate was home to dozens of exclusive racks filled with clothes and pretty much what dreams are made of.

Girls With Pearls

So if diamonds are a girls best friend, what does that make pearls? Well, the next thing you should be wearing around your neck of course! This spring (or fall), its time to channel your inner Ariel and open up that shell to claim your gem of the sea! The twisted strands have been seen taking shape on the runways transforming from attire made for a queen, to being exposed to a huge dose of oversized luxury. Pearls are a thing of the past and present, likely to make another entrance a few more times in our future. It’s worth your investment, trust me, and despite the fact there are waves when they seem to have a breakthrough, they really do never go out of style. Pearls are a symbol of purity, power, and wealth, and if the Roman women wore them to sleep, and Coco Chanel was rarely seen without them, then they are good enough for us!

Kylie Jenner Is Trying TO Bring Back WHAT Trend?

What do you wear on your head, associate to 2003, and know for a fact Paris Hilton owned a closet full of?

If your answer is a Von Dutch trucker hat, then you are absolutely correct. This past week, youngest member to the Kardashian clan, Kylie Jenner, has posted around at least four Instagram snaps of herself donning the hat, as well as multiple stories on Snapchat. Von Dutch is a long forgotten brand that had its five minutes of fame being worn the heads of most celebrities pre-breakdown (…Britney…), and actually died because it was so widely worn people just lost interest. The thought of the brand ever becoming ‘a thing’ again would have never crossed my mind until now, and is still a pretty questionable comeback. Jenner has taken to her social media platforms to hault the world of the forgotten and rise the Von Dutch trucker hat from the dead. All the power to you!

Slide On Sandal Dominating Spring

Last year we started to catch a glimpse of the sneaker trend on the rise with a noticeable amout of the Stan Smith sneakers being worn on, well, just about everyone. Now, athletic company Adidas has yet another unsuspecting prospect, the Adilette Slides, which are having a major moment and paving the way for all other designers. Better known as ‘shower shoes’, and most commonly what comes to mind with what athletes slip on with a pair of socks, the Adilette is showing up on all the cool girl Instagram blogs, as well as on the feet of celebrities everywhere, such as Khloe Kardashian.

The Adilette, as see above, is nothing special nor anything new, yet its overall thirst comes from the fact its sporty and comfortable, yet geometrically chic and clean. In turn, due to their ramped popularity, the overall style of them is being mimicked by designers everywhere, including my favourite pair at Chanel, with Givenchy as a close runner up.

Givenchy Poolside Slide Sandal

Other big names such as Chloé, Marc Jacobs, and Prada to name a few, have taken a spin on their own version of the trend with regards to design and colour.

Prepare to be seeing more of the slides as Adidas is starting to target the higher fashion markets creating different variations of the classic, such as in a sophisticated pony hair style, whilst keeping the reasonable price of $35-$75.

Inside Lisa Vanderpump’s Glam Room

Lisa Vanderpump, star of everyones favourite housewives series, lives comfortably in Beverly Hills, in a house surrounded by dogs, swans, and pink decor. Its a magical place, really, much like a castle, minus the drawbridge-but I’m sure if she could implement it, it would be there too. Owner of three successful restaurants in and around Los Angeles, she is the driving force behind a wine endeavour, and of course a pet supplies line, as she is rarely seen without her two Pomeranian in tow. She let the cameras of Harpers Bazaar into her glamorous beauty room and closet with an exclusive look at her “low maintenance” lifestyle. Take a look!

My Favourite Face Masks EVER

For those of you asking me about my skin care regime I though I’d take the time after this crazy busy week and enlighten you with my favourite masks I use to make my skin radiant, even when I’m exhausted. As most of you know I like to keep everything as natural as possible from what I put inside my body through the food I eat, to the products I use on my  skin. Through much trial and tribulation I finally found a set of masks that truly makes a difference, is amazing quality, and is all natural. Most of you have probably heard of the company Origins, but have never really given it a second glance, but don’t worry because I didn’t either. I was formally introduced to the company through my mom who uses their mascara, when i accompanied her to their store one day when she had to grab a few products. Upon leaving I was given samples in miniature squeeze tubes of a few of their most popular masks, “Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask To Quench Skins Thirst”, and the, “Out of Trouble 10 Min Mask to Rescue Problem Skin”. That night I gave them a try, and its safe to say I have never looked back. They are by far the most satisfying skin care products I have tried, that actually, visibly, worked. Since then I carry an Origins army with me everywhere, featuring the two mentioned above, as well as their, “Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask to Clean Pores”, and their “Skin Optimizing Mask Primer”, which I apply before the use of any mask to further the effectiveness of the product. I take time 2-3 times a week to apply the “Out of Trouble”, with the “Active Charcoal” mask on my face, using the latter on my T-zone and the previous everywhere else, finishing with application of the “Intensive Overnight” one, to be rinsed in the morning.
